They decided to create an educational institute that did not conform to the norms and rote learning that was prevalent in India.
The institute started operations on September 16th, 2007. It is an institution of learning that aims to deliver experiential learning to foster in students; the professionalism, collaboration, appreciation of leadership, ability to work hard, take rational decisions, and develop high thinking and sensitization to social needs.
The concept of an undergraduate School of Liberal Education offering undergraduate programs in a host of subjects from Humanities, Social Sciences and Natural Sciences, Creative Arts, and applied areas; a School of Business offering a PGDM in Management, a School of Communication offering PGDM in Mass Media, a School of Performing Arts and a Center for Organizational Growth and Excellence offering Management Development Programs for the industry emerged after discussions on the lacunae in the current education system with intellectuals, students and heads of educational institution.

FLAME School of Business PGDM program is a full-time, two-year, residential, post-graduate program approved by AICTE. Specializations offered by FLAME School of Business include: Marketing, Finance & Accounting, Human Resource Management, Operations, Entrepreneurship and International Business.
It is only the second B-School in India to have been accepted into the coveted CFA Institute Recognition Program. Additionally, FLAME School of Business is rated by CRISIL as one of the best B-Schools in India with A* (National) and A** (Maharashtra) for the years 2011 & 2012.
FLAME School of Business is also ranked as the 16th best B-School in Western India by Business World in 2013. The program has six trimesters over two years which also includes an 8-week summer internship.
Master of Business Administration (MBA):
Program covers various domains of Social Sciences, Humanities, Foreign Languages and Fine & Performing Arts, besides deep domain knowledge of management.
Students are trained as individual leaders as well as team players through mandatory sports, simulations, projects, internships, investment and entrepreneurship labs, besides the discussion based class sessions.
Program is also accepted into the coveted CFA University Recognition Program

ELIGIBILITY:
The minimum eligibility to apply to FLAME School of Business is the following:
A bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a university / institution recognized by the UGC or equivalent bodies with a minimum score of 50% aggregate. Candidates in their final year can also apply provided they can produce the final year degree certificate / mark sheet before 30th September.
Test scores in any of the following national level tests conducted in the current year – *CAT (conducted by IIMs), XAT, MAT, CMAT or GMAT.
Students passing from any university / institution with distance mode of learning do not meet the minimum eligibility criteria.
